Capital Radio - Leicester Square

After the move from Euston Tower the first studios for Capital FM and Capital Gold at Leicester Square used analogue mixing desks with a degree of digital control and signal routing. Since then the move to digital systems has gathered pace and later installations use digital mixing desks as well as substantial computer control and routing, including the use of touch screens.

The Capital Gold programme feed is used as the sustaining service for the rest of the Capital Radio Group's Gold stations around the UK, with opt-outs for local news, commercials etc.

The XFM operation was transferred to Leicester Square when the station was taken over by Capital, likewise Choice FM, and there are also originating facilities for several other radio services which are broadcast digitally, only, on DAB and other platforms.

Following the merger with GWR to form GCap Media, Classic FM, formerly a GWR owned station, transferred to new studios at Leicester Square in 2006.
